Prestige classes allow characters to specialize in a particular field, becoming truly exceptional within their area of expertise or foucus.

Among the countless prestige classes that aren't listed on this website, there are many which are are quite focused and heavy on flavor that might not be compatible with this campaign. Consult with the GM before you start to work toward qualifying for a prestige class to make sure that the class is allowed.

As per the general guidelines on sourcebooks, people can mostly assume that the Prestige Classes found in the pathfinder corebook are probably available without having to check, just like most of the corebook material.

Rules

Unlike the normal core classes, characters must meet specific requirements before they can take their first level of a prestige class. If a character doesn't meet the requirements for a prestige class before gaining any benefits of that level, that character can't take that prestige class.

Characters that take levels in prestige classes don't get any "favored class" bonuses for those levels.
Houserule: The khoravar ability to have 2 favored classes can be used to designate a PrC as a 'favored class', getting the bonus from its levels.
