The average balisse is 7 feet tall and weighs 200 pounds; its powerful wings make up the majority of this weight.

Information: Balisses, sometimes called "confessor angels", appear to decent individuals on the horns of moral dilemmas or those experiencing a crisis of faith. Though balisses may appear stern and unyielding, they prefer to guide individuals to their own moral decisions rather than ordering them to conform to a specific ideal of good, knowing that the goodness found on one’s own is stronger than mere obedience.

Some balisses seek out mortals in need of their help, while others are given specific assignments by the archangel they serve. Balisses are used to dealing with stubbornness, and have an eternity’s worth of patience. Though they brook no physical attacks, they can endure almost any other hostility for the sake of their mission.

The role of confessor is a solitary one. Balisses rarely interact with their own kind. Some confessor angels form long-lasting bonds with the people they have helped; between missions they may travel to visit their old success stories. Often a balisse leaves a mortal just as the mortal is beginning to appreciate the angel's company. Reunions are rare, but cherished all the more because of their scarcity.
